The original founder of Masaki-ryu Nakajima-ha, Masaki Taro Dayu trained diligently in the martial arts from early
childhood, and at the age of twelve moved an approximately 100kg stone in his garden despite being ill at the time.
With training, it is said he was able to swing an approximately 7.5kg axe 800 times each morning without his
complexion changing. Masaki-sensei engaged in a great amount of conditioning and even conceived and implemented
a range of conditioning methods and training devices.

Masaki-ryu Nakajima-ha includes fundamental techniques and conditioning methods that can also be trained alone,
and we place importance on conditioning and hard-wiring the body for training and combat. Repeated correct practice
every day familiarizes, conditions and strengthens the body, and allows our school’s techniques to naturally permeate.
To this end, students only focused on practicing our fundamental techniques alone, and were not allowed to train
with their senior students for the first year in the old days, although today we teach all students these individual
conditioning techniques/methods along with paired partner training (ura iai).

It’s no overstatement then to say that the more a person likes to copy a correct model and repeatedly correctly
train the movements, the more they will develop.
